Supermodified racer Jeff Russell was critically injured at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway Bullring in October of 2010. Jeff was preparing for the Supermodified Racing Association, (SMRA), Speedfest when something broke on his supermodified entering turn one. Jeff hit the wall with tremendous force and even though he had the best safety equipment, he sustained life threatening injuries.
Fortunately Jeff lived but sustained Traumatic Brain Injury. Jeff’s family has been steadfast in looking for anything they can to help Jeff improve and to some degree he has. However the medical bills are astronomical and continue to mount as he needs regular therapy and no longer has an income of his own being on full-time disability.
If you are a SUPRS member or regular visitor you have heard us talk about Jeff many times. He was a friend to SUPRS and we are a friend to him. Now’s your chance to donate to help Jeff on his Road to Recovery. Even if you can’t be at the race at Meridian, you can call Jeff’s step-dad Bob Cambou at the number on the poster to make a donation.
Moral support helps too. At the bottom of the website you may have noticed the “Get Well Soon Jeff” graphic. Click on it and you can visit Jeff’s website at www.OFRacing.com where you can leave a message to let Jeff and his family know you are thinking about him.
