Jacksonville, NC – November 6, 2013…Rob Warren of Pulaski, NY was able to break the stranglehold Ray Sand, Jr. and Carl Becker have had on feature victories in the 2013 Supermodified Ultimate Pavement Racing Series Wednesday night winning at Concord Motorsports Park and Coastal Plains Speedway.
At Concord, Warren was able to stave off the late race challenge of Ray Sand, Jr., even after the two made minor contact in on the last lap. Warren said after the race, “I knew I had to protect the bottom and make Ray go up high, well I didn’t keep it as low as I wanted and gave Ray just enough to get a nose in and we bumped.”

Warren had high praise for the reigning SUPRS Winged Series Champion saying, “Ray could of kept his foot in it and taken me out but he showed what it means to be a champion by backing out of the throttle letting me gather it up, hold my position and go on to win. He could have just stuffed me, and after he backed out it hurt his race a lot more than mine. He’s a great competitor and I enjoy racing him, but I enjoy beating him even more.”
At Coastal Plains Speedway Warren was one of three different drivers to lead a lap and won the race by a sizable margin after second through fourth positions battled ferociously behind him.

now receive an invitation to Thursday night’s “Hickory Hustle” at Hickory Motor Speedway. The winner of that race will be crowned 2013 10th Anniversary North Carolina Swing Champion, but to do so the driver will have to overcome a random start and 75 laps of wheel to wheel action with the best drivers SUPRS has.
